Microsoft Office 2010 – What’s New?

Microsoft Office 2010 is out now and is packed full of new features which make working with everyday programmes such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook much easier. The latest features help you to access your files and programmes away from the office, find the information you need on your computer quicker, and collaborate on, and share, documents with colleagues in your office or on the other side of the world.
Rather than listing the huge amount of new features on Office 2010 we’ve picked out a few that we think will really help speed up every day jobs in an office. The features which we think will help the most are:
Outlook Conversation View – the new layout of Microsoft Outlook 2010 makes managing emails much easier by grouping related emails together and it also allows you to clean up redundant messages, or ignore them altogether.

Co-Authoring Capabilities – Office 2010 allows you to work collaboratively on projects with other users anywhere in the world in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Communicate through Programs – With Office Communicator now integrated into several Office 2010 programs you can contact your colleagues directly whilst working on a document or checking an email.
Access Programs Online – with Office Web Apps your documents and software are available to you anywhere through SharePoint so they can be accessed and edited anywhere.
Microsoft Office Backstage – this new feature replaces the traditional menu file to give you an easy, centralised location for common functions such as save, print and share.
Paste Live – this allows you to preview your Paste before you actually paste it to make sure it is correctly formatted and will appear as intended in your document.

Excel Visualisation – the new visualisation tools in Excel 2010 allow you to quickly add a visual summary of your data along with mini-charts called Sparklines.

Broadcast Presentations – PowerPoint 2010 enables you to instantly broadcast your presentations live on the internet allowing your audience to view your slideshow, even if they don’t have PowerPoint installed on their computer.
